Overview:
The Engineering Manager is expected to work in partnership with the team and management to devise, implement and oversee policy enhancement and procedural improvement within the business. Optimising procedures, driving efficiency and linking workflows within systems
The role is responsible for Quality Assurance and the ongoing development of an ISO-based Quality Management System. Managing maintenance of the equipment and the facility in partnership with Production as well as safety and environmental compliance.
Working with the Managing Director and Plant Manager to determine and track company objectives and KPIs leveraging systems, data management and reporting mechanisms.
The Engineering Manager will oversee multiple areas within the company, assuring productivity and efficiency. Training and coaching people to complete individual tasks in service of company objectives.

Process Excellence
- Facilitates the development, implementation and improvement of company processes and procedures
- Standardisation of practices across the organisation
- Ensuring regulatory knowledge and compliance as appropriate for safe and legal ongoing operations
- Participation in the development of organisational budgets
- Monitoring and continuous improvement
Commitment to Quality
- Devising and implementing QA programs with the Plant Manager and Quality Representative
- QA ownership – ensuring the business activities are performed to meet the QMS objectives and customer-specific requirements
- Ensuring that the systems are in place to manage Vendors and communicate with Customers on all non-conformance issues
- Driving quality process knowledge and adherence
Maintenance Management
- Planning and overseeing all maintenance-related work on equipment and the facility
- Managing what the Plant requires to run
- Partnering with Production to maximise plant uptime through a proactive maintenance program and ongoing improvement
- Manage parts and consumables linked to maintenance
- Identifying and managing capable suppliers and contractors as appropriate
- Lead and coach the maintenance team
- Budgeting and tracking of maintenance expenses
Safety and Environment
- Ensure all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and processes are implemented and adhered to.
- Run the SHEQ Committee and track the implementation of improvement actions and company safety and environmental performance
Tracking and Reporting
- Ensuring the availability of accurate and timely information to customers, team members and management
- System knowledge and improvement to enable the visibility and accuracy required
- Management reporting
- Monitoring of key KPIs
Sales Process Adherence
- Tracking the implementation of the Sales
- The process from inquiry to remittance ensuring understanding and compliance
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience
- Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in:
- Business Process Development
- Selection and procurement of manufacturing-related raw materials and services
- Facilities Management exposure
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Strong IT skills in a variety of systems
- Development of systems and procedures
- Management experience in a production environment
- Maintains a positive working relationship with all team members
- Demonstrated analytical, coordination, negotiation and leadership skills
- Knowledge of organizational effectiveness
- Adaptable and able to respond quickly to change
- Leverage knowledge and experience to develop the team, improve production processes and enhance the client experience
