Overview
Our client is a small, growing manufacturer in the plastic manufacturing industry is looking for a highly entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer. The CEO will be responsible for the overall success of the business and for making top-level managerial decisions.
The CEO will be asked for input on major decisions, take ultimate responsibility, and work closely with shareholders to drive strategy and long-term success. The CEO has responsibilities as a communicator, decision-maker, leader, and manager. The CEO advises the Board of Directors (BoD) and the shareholders, motivates employees, and drives change and innovation within the organization.
The CEO presides over the organization’s day-to-day, month-to-month, and year-to-year operations. The CEO shall have delegated power of authority from the BoD and shareholders to act on behalf of the Company. It is expected of the CEO to grow the company based on the mutually agreed business plan and budget of the BoD as agreed to on an annual basis and as may be amended from time to time.
The CEO will be equity aligned and incentivised for long term success. The CEO is a full-time position at the office/factory in Newtown. Shareholders have offices in Greenside, where hot-desking or a meeting venue for larger sessions (8+ pax) can be made available to the CEO.
Basic requirements
- Proven track record/experience in successful turn-around, development and growth of a manufacturing business (highly entrepreneurial, commercially driven to unlock value across the value chain)
- Must be innovative, come up with new ideas and apply judgement about which idea will benefit the company
- General or Advanced Manufacturing Experience (Experience within the plastic manufacturing industry will be advantageous)
- Experience managing across Supply Chain and Customer functions
- Emerging and/or international market experience advantageous, but not a requirement

- Lead the development of the company’s short- and long-term strategy to drive growth and meet medium- to long-term targets
- Drive strategy and execution by directing and engaging with a multi-disciplinary team across functions (Marketing, Sales, Integrated Supply Chain, HR and Finance)
- Drive continuous improvement to keep the business competitive and drive effectiveness across the value chain.
- Own the key relationships with customers across the product lines
- Responsible to manage the production and the overall operations of the business
- Communicate, on behalf of the company, with shareholders, government entities, or the public
- Evaluate the work of other executive leaders within the company, including directors, vice presidents, and presidents

Competencies
- Commercial savviness – with demonstrated success at managing a P&L against pre-determined KPIs
- General management skills – with prior experience in the production and manufacturing sector, ideally spanning both marketing and customer functions, with an understanding of supply chain and finance operations
- Consumer and market knowledge – an understanding of how to build and expand product lines and market
- Influencing and negotiation skills – with an ability to influence across functions to make things happen
